Max Niederköppern - MANI - Abstract Artist Berlin.jpg

ABOUT

Max Niederköppern is a self-taught artist based in Berlin, where he has lived and worked since 2012. His acrylic paintings range from minimalist pieces to intricate arrangements that pair muted tones with vibrant colors.

The style is shaped by a variety of sources, including cellular formations, ancient hieroglyphs and the aesthetics of Art Nouveau, along with artists like Gustav Klimt for his geometric decoration or Henri Rousseau and his dreamlike jungle landscapes.

Nature’s course of repetition and variation generates structures on all levels of scale. They endure in cultural artifacts, such as symbols, ornaments and architecture. The artworks reflect this organic concept, showing how complex forms emerge from a simple set of principles and reveal a sense of harmony.
