Monochrome Calligraphy: Written by Nature

Sand-toned symbols descend in vertical columns across a bright ground. A hexagonal grid gives the composition its clarity and structure. Within that order, the forms remain organic. At times they read like hieroglyphs, while elsewhere they resemble natural structures: cells, repeating patterns, rippled traces in sand. The work moves between these two readings and I wonder: where does nature end and culture begin?

Hieroglyphs and similar systems did not appear in isolation. Their shapes often derive from natural structures. By reducing the work to organic geometry the connection becomes visible again. What looks like language is still written by nature.
